The very Quotable Karl....

Karl Lagerfeld, for a man who works in one of the most upmarket brands available. He has an awful habit of throwing out some truly awful quotes. Not forgetting his admission to 'enjoying' the services of rent boys a year or so ago during an interview and his famous 'fat mothers' comment (“No one wants to see curvy women. You’ve got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying that thin models are ugly.) Do his PR team even exist anymore? Or did they quit around the time of rentboygate? Either way, Here are some of the GENIUS quotes from the 30 minute interview :

On who the real Karl Lagerfeld is: “I am a cocktail.”

On the hierarchy at Chanel: “Nobody tells me what to do at Chanel… I am there to be used. I like to be used, but only in the way I think I should be used.”

On movies about Chanel: “I don’t like the movies about Coco Chanel.”

On couture: “Buying couture is no worse than collecting expensive cars. People are rich enough to buy them. Others make a living from that. I have no fake guilt about couture.”

On the business of fashion: “The inexpensive and the very expensive has more future in this economy than anything in between.”

On shape: “The stick thin silhouette is over.”

And finally, on the past: “I don’t want to hear about the past… I am only interested in now.”

Karl, we love you. Don't stop rolling 'em out!
