Hi everyone! Wow it feels like forever since I've written a blog post. I've missed it and am very thankful that my hectic week is over! I'll spare you all the boring details, but one good thing did come out of all the madness. I am no longer the owner of a boring old minivan, and now own an SUV. Good-bye soccer mom, hello hockey mom. Ok so I'm a bit excited about getting a new car even if the events that made it happen weren't the best. But I'm getting off topic so let's get back to the nail polish shall we?
Today I'm sharing my thoughts on the ever so sparkly Fiery the Angels Fell by Indigo Bananas. Fiery the Angels Fell is a deep coral red that shifts to a golden orange and a lighter orange glass flecked beauty.

Application was easy with the first coat being semi-sheer and full opacity reached after 2. Because of the glass flecks there is a slight texture to the nails which can be smoothed out with a layer of top coat. Shown here is 2 coats plus top coat.

You can wear this polish alone or layered over another color as a topper. I've chosen to wear it alone so I could see the true base color. But if you look at the pictures in the shop it looks amazing over black.
I had to include this macro shot of the glass flecks on my newly acquired nubbins. Just look at the depth they create! I was so happy when I found this photo while editing, I knew I had gotten a decent shot but I had no idea my camera had captured it so well. I might have to take back some of the not so nice things I've muttered under my breath recently while trying to capture that perfect shot.
Fiery the Angels fell is available for purchase in 2 sizes $10 for a full size (15ml) and $6.25 for a mini (8ml) There is a note from the maker listed about Fiery the Angels Fell concerning staining.
Staining: This color does use lake dyes, but has a very low pigment load and should not stain. A base coat IS recommended for it however.
NOTE: I have -not- experienced staining with the pigment used in this polish, unlike quite a few of my commercial reds and pinks. Your mileage may vary, so I always recommend wearing a base coat under pinks, reds, yellows and yellow leaning greens to be safe. I did not experience staining either but I did use Orly Bonder as my base coat. So what do you think of Fiery the Angel Fell? It's my one and only Indigo polish so far but I might be hooked. What are your favorites that I should check out? Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
